This is a digital game uses the latest research in game theory and design for pre-algebra students. It uses math-based puzzles embedded in a storyline where students work to find their lost pet by disguising themselves as an avatar and saving the world from monsters. The game builds pre-algebra skills in proportions, fractions, and ratios; variables and equations; and numbers and operations. It can be played individually or in teams. As an online communication device it allows players to exchange ideas and game strategies and encourages collaborative game play. The Web site has a section for teachers and families and a library section to learn more about the many issues surrounding games and learning.
